TURN (Thriving Under the Rainbow for Newcomers) Workshops

The program offers 2SLGBTQI+ newcomers who are eligible to work in Canada weekly employment-focused workshops, designed to:

• Improve essential life skills, networking, and job searching;
• Prepare for job or post-secondary education applications;
• Educate on workers’ rights and workplace health and safety, addressing the precarious work conditions many have experienced;
• Enhance understanding of the Canadian labour market, industry regulations, and career advancement opportunities through upskilling;
• Inform about and facilitate connections to cost-effective job training, apprenticeship, and pre-apprenticeship programs.
• Enhance knowledge, skills and support for entrepreneurial and small business endeavours.
