Access Alliance serves the most vulnerable populations of the city. Whether it’s feeding the hungry during a pandemic, removing barriers for traditionally disadvantaged people to achieve health with dignity, or supporting refugees and other newcomers to have a steady foothold and crucial connections in this city, we listen, advocate, collaborate and effect change relentlessly.
Nahom Berhane Scholarship 2021 – Focusing on Black Students’ Success
The Nahom Berhane Scholarship has been supporting aspiring youth from vulnerable communities for six years. In 2021 the scholarship will be focusing on under-resourced students in marginalized Black communities. Donate today to help these students reach their full potential!
Why do people donate?
“I was under Nahom’s mentorship as a co-op student a few years ago and I know what a great role model he was in supporting his community. In the short period of time I got to work with him he left a lasting impression on me and always had a big smile on his face. I know he would have really appreciated this generous donation that my workplace [Dermologica] was gracious enough to arrange” Maicy, 2021 Scholarship Donor
What difference have donations made?
“This scholarship has helped me focus on my studies and has relieved me of the financial struggles and stress of worrying about my university fees. It has been a huge help and I will always be grateful for it.” Emy, 2020 Scholarship Recipient
Our work at Access Alliance isn’t easy, and we couldn’t do it without your support. Many of our much-needed programs are underfunded, such as our LGBTQ+ Newcomer Programs and Non Insured Walk In Clinics for people without status or insurance.
Every dollar that you gave goes to these causes and many more. Your generous donations enable us to reach through the cracks to connect with and support the most marginalized members of society and make all of our communities stronger.
Please donate today to make a difference. Your actions matter!
