Event Photographer
Volunteer Position Description: Event Photographer (Multiple Positions)
We are seeking passionate and skilled volunteers to help capture special moments at our various events. As a volunteer photographer, you will play a key role in documenting events, preserving memories, and creating high-quality, on-brand images for our communications team.
Focus area: Community Events/Communications and Outreach
Tasks:
- Capture candid and posed photographs during events, including key moments, attendees, and the overall atmosphere.
- Ensure a variety of shots, such as wide-angle photos, close-ups, and group shots.
- Collaborate with the event staff to understand specific photo needs and deliverables.
- Upload selected quality photos onto designated Canva folders and label the photos accordingly.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Access to a quality camera and/or smartphone for photography.
- Some prior photography training or a willingness to learn.
- Experience using Canva or a willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Friendly demeanour and customer service skills.
Location: Multiple Locations
- Access Point on Danforth: 3079 Danforth Ave
- Access Point on Jane: 761 Jane Street
- College Location: 340 College Street
- Other off-site locations as assigned
Time Commitment:
- Minimum of 10 hours of service within one year.
- Commitment to a 1-hour online training session on branding and photo curation.
- Events may occur on various dates throughout the year, primarily between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on weekdays, with some weekend events.
Once onboarded and complete training, you will be added to a roster and notified of upcoming event opportunities. You can sign up to volunteer for any events based on your availability.
Format: In-person
Assets (not required):
- Proficiency in a language other than English.
