Seniors Program Assistant- Danforth

Volunteer Position Descriptions:

We are seeking volunteers to support the facilitation of a welcoming and enjoyable Bingo- Tea and Chat program for seniors, encouraging social interaction and community engagement.

Tasks include:

  • Help set up and organize program space.  
  • Support staff with weekly Bingo games and activities.  
  • Support with the preparation and distribution of light snacks.  
  • Engage in friendly conversation with seniors, ensuring everyone feels included.  
  • Support participants with any needs during the activities.  
  • Help tidy up the space after the session.  

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor.  
  • Ability to interact comfortably with seniors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliable and able to work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers.
  • Complete a new volunteer registration
  • Complete onboarding and Volunteer Orientation
  • Police Back Check
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Location: AccessPoint on Danforth, 3079 Danforth Avenue

Time Commitment: Fridays 1pm-4:30pm. This is an an-going program Starting February 21, 2025

Format: In-person
