Brief Description of the Practicum Project:
Access Alliance offers a wide range of community services. Activities include workshops, civic engagement activities, and heath promotion campaigns. Reporting to the Community Service Worker, students will be involved in planning and developing of programs to support community members. Within the Community Service team, students will support day to day operations including outreach initiatives and volunteer engagement. Students will also assist with program evaluation.

- Knowledge of community development
- Gain knowledge of working in a community with high needs, low income, multi-lingual, and multi-racial
- Program development and implementation

Qualifications/Competencies Required:
- Second, Third, Fourth year student from Community Development, Social Service, or relevant field
- Willing to work with various programs and support as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work with low-income, multi-lingual/racial communities
- Flexible and willing to take on new challenges
Benefit to the Student:
- Gain practical skills in working with high need population and diverse community
- Gain knowledge of working in a community health setting and effective program interventions to support low-income, multi-cultural community
