Among Friends – Art Program – DANFORTH

Volunteer Position Descriptions:

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting our 2SLGBTQ+ Program at our Jane location. In this position, volunteers will support the program with registration, weekly program snacks and meal preparation, as well as program space set up and providing guidance to program participant. All volunteers will be required to complete an orientation conducted by Access Alliance staff. 

Qualification and Requirements: Volunteers should feel confident and comfortable engaging with diverse communities, particularly 2SLGBTQ+ community.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle conflicts calmly.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn about food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to lift light items (e.g., trays, dishes).
  • Comfortable handling knives or other kitchen tools safely.
  • Organizational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to follow instructions for setup and takedown procedures.
  • Ability to lift or move light equipment (e.g., chairs, tables).
  • Willingness to assist participants with directions or questions.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential

Location: AccessPoint on Danforth, 3079 Danforth Avenue

 Volunteer Commitment:

Time Commitment: Thursdays from 2pm-5:30pm and/ or 4pm-7:30pm, (January 30 – April 24)

Format: In-person
