Administrative Support Volunteer – Income Tax Clinic 2025
Volunteer Position Description: We are looking for volunteers who are interested in becoming part of our income tax clinic team. Our clinic provides free service for individuals and families with low income during tax session. In this position, the volunteer will support the program in all administrative aspects. All volunteers will be required to complete training from Revenue Canada through CVITP as well as orientation conducted by Access Alliance staff.
Tasks:
- Access and retrieve voicemails
- Follow up with clients and book appointments over the phone
- Complete intake process in preparation of clients dropping of documentation
- Provide clear information to clients e.g. Documentation required to file taxes
- Prepare client files by making copies of confidential documents
- Store all confidential documentation in a safe, locked cabinet
Location: The Tax Clinic operates at both of our locations
EAST END: AccessPoint on Danforth, 3079 Danforth Ave. Toronto, ON M1L 1A8
WEST END: AccessPoint on Jane, 761 Jane St. Toronto, ON M6N 4B4
Volunteer Commitment:
- Commit to a minimum of 8 shifts between February 19th and April 26th
- Agree to volunteer schedule
- Be on-site, on time for volunteer shift
Volunteer Hours and Shifts:
- Minimum of 4 hours commitment per shift required
- Some shift may be flexible, please inquire

Format: In-Person
Qualification and Requirements:
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills, familiar with Microsoft and Google Suite
- Good command of written and oral English required; Language skills in Urdu, Bengali, Spanish, Tigrinya, Portuguese, Farsi and Arabic is considered an asset
- Ability to work with high level of confidentiality and privacy is a must
- Interest in income tax preparation or similar interests
- Must be able to provide high level of customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with low income, multi-lingual/racial communities will be an asset
- Flexible and willing to take on new challenges
- Must be 18 years or older
The required training and registration ensure volunteers are in compliance with Access Alliance and the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) standards.
- Complete a new volunteer registration
- Complete onboarding and February Volunteer Orientation
- Submit clear Police Back Check
