Seniors Programs Support Worker
Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services is a multi-service community agency that works to improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable immigrants, refugees, and their communities. We do this by facilitating access to services and addressing systemic inequities. The Centre envisions a future in which Toronto’s diverse communities achieve health with dignity.
Position Title: Seniors Programs Support Worker
Placement Type: In-Person
Number of Positions Available: 1
Worksite Location and Conditions: Access Point on Danforth
**Occasional support at AccessPoint on Jane may be required**
Brief Description of Practicum Project:
Work closely with the supervisor:
- Planning, implementation and facilitation of Seniors’ Programs (weekly recreational activities-mostly in-person following Covid restrictions)
- Research, collect and collate needs-based information for Seniors’ Programs and services for further program development
- Design and develop communication tools, program materials and outreach materials for Seniors’ Programs
- Outreach to recruit newcomer seniors
- Support in planning and organizing NCT Seniors’ Cooking sessions
- Support the documentation and report writing
- Collect and collect statistics/data for evaluations, case studies and success stories
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications/Competencies Required:
- 3rd and 4th-year student pursuing a career in, Community Development, Social Services Work or relevant discipline
- Experience working with ethno-culturally diverse populations in Toronto with a focus on seniors community
- Demonstrated problem-solving, planning, organizational, teamwork and time management skills
