Short Description:

Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services (AAMHCS) is a Community Health Centre that aims to provide services and addresses system inequities to improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable immigrants, refugees, and their communities. The Centre envisions a future in which Toronto’s diverse communities achieve health with dignity.

As a member of the interdisciplinary team the Registered Dietitian provides direct services to clients as well as nutrition and food access group programs, nutrition consultation and training, develops nutrition education resources and materials, and participates in food security initiatives.  The ideal candidate will have strong nutrition screening, assessment, counselling and care management skills. 

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide clinical nutrition care to multi-racial, multi lingual communities
  • Participate in the development of multi-disciplinary health promotion programs: assessing community needs, planning, implementing and evaluating programs
  • Participate in research initiatives of the centre
  • Initiate, participate in or lead program planning, delivery and evaluation
  • Develop and evaluate nutrition education resources
  • Taking responsibility for students, and volunteers
  • Submit statistics and reports on a timely basis
  • Travel throughout the city as required to deliver services

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree in human nutrition and dietetics
  • Registration in good standing with the Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Thorough understanding of community-based health care, health promotion and food security issues including the impact of social, economic, environmental and cultural issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Minimum 3 years front-line experience in a community health or clinical setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, time management and self-care skills
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in a language of one of the priority groups of the Centre is preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
  • Commitment to working with immigrants and refugees from an anti-racist/ anti-oppression perspective
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and keyboarding skills

Salary: $62,710-$75,638

Hours: 35 hours/week

Duration: Permanent
