Food Prep Volunteer: Save, Preserve, and Serve

About the Program: 

The Save, Preserve, and Serve Programs aims to reduce food waste, support local food security initiatives, and increase community awareness and capacity building, as well as to teach the community about the health benefits of preserved foods. Volunteers will help SPS facilitators to create culturally relevant preserved foods. 

Tasks: 

  • help the facilitator set up the kitchen 
  • chop vegetables
  • general food and canning preservation

Friday, March 25th  10:00am – 12:00pm
Tuesday, March 29th  3:00pm – 6:00pm 
Friday, April 1st  9:30am – 11:30am
Friday, April 1st  11:30am – 1:30pm

AccessPoint on Jane 

Monday, March 28th  10:00am – 2:00pm
Monday, April 4th  10:00am – 2:00pm

  • basic knife skills 
  • comfortable working in a kitchen environment
