Community interpretation provides a rewarding and flexible career. Interpreters work with AALS on a freelance basis. This means that you work for us as an independent contractor on an on-call basis, depending on the needs of our client organizations in the Greater Toronto Area.

If you are already ILSAT/CILISAT certified and trained in community interpretation, we would be happy to receive your application to work with AAIS as a freelance community interpreter.

Please send us your:

• Cover letter and résumé outlining your training in community interpretation and work experience (if any)
• Your certificates of training
• Your CILISAT/ILSAT test results and certificate
• Certificate or proof of Post secondary Medical Terminology course

If you have an interpretation degree from an accredited college or university, training and testing requirements may be waived.
