Student Training Program
Every Fall and Winter terms, Access Alliance offers a training program for free to students from various disciplines who are interested in working with immigrants and refugees. Topics include:
- Immigration and Settlement in Toronto: An Overview
- Refugees and Mental Health
- Introduction to Community Health Centres and Health Promotion
- Introduction to Anti-Oppressive Theory and Practice
- Introduction to Community-Based Participatory Research
- Introduction to Working with Interpreters
- Taking Care of You: Strategies for Self-Care
Students currently completing a field placement at any agency are welcome to register for any or all sessions. Students who successfully complete all seven workshops will be mailed a certificate.
You must register by January 12th to attend. Space is limited.
